Air
Where old cars come to a good end An innovative program supported by Imperial Oil, Car Heaven is helping to get older, higher polluting cars off the road. More ... Foundation Donation: $1.5 million since 1999
Imperial supports the Clean Air Foundation and its Car Heaven program, a national program that makes it easier for Canadians to retire older, higher-emitting vehicles at no cost to the owner. Those who use the program receive incentives to purchase new vehicles or shift to other cleaner alternatives. At the end of 2006, more than 44,000 older vehicles were retired through Car Heaven. This amounts to reductions of more than 32,000 tonnes of GHG emissions, 19,000 tonnes of carbon monoxide emissions and 5,000 tonnes of smog-forming emissions.
