The Esso-branded retail network of almost 2,000 sites, the largest network in Canada, is a familiar site across the Canadian landscape. Many of the sites include On the Run or Tiger Express-branded convenience stores, Tim Horton's outlets, Royal Bank automatic teller machines and car washes, all designed to provide fast, convenient and friendly service.
Through our Esso-branded associate network, we provide high-quality heating oil that is specially formulated for each region in which it is sold.
Imperial operates 27 bulk distribution terminals across the country to store and distribute petroleum products to its customers. State-of-the-art facilities and computer technology make these terminals second to none in Canada. Imperial's distribution network handles more product than any other in the country and is ISO 9002 certified, a first in the Canadian petroleum industry.
Imperial's Finch terminal was the first in Ontario to be equipped with a system to reclaim product vapors during the loading and unloading of tank trucks. Vapor recovery helps reduce smog by capturing volatile organic compounds that are released into the atmosphere when petroleum products are moved. Six Imperial terminals in the smog-prone, Windsor-Quebec City corridor have vapor-recovery capability. There is also a seventh vapor-recovery unit at the Lougheed terminal in Vancouver.
Imperial supplies its customers in the farm, residential heating and small-commercial markets with fuels and lubricants through one company-owned Home Comfort centre and a branded associate network operating about 95 bulk plants across Canada.
