| | Operations Integrity Management Framework
Imperial has a disciplined framework called Operations Integrity for the management of environment, health and safety with the goal of preventing operational incidents, fires and explosions, spills or leaks that may harm people and the environment. This means Imperial Oil complies with all applicable laws and regulations, designs, constructs and operates facilities to high standards, and systematically identifies and manages safety, health and environmental risks.
Operations Integrity (or OIMS) contains 11 elements, with expectations defined for each of these elements. The 11 elements of operations integrity are:
- Management, Leadership, Commitment and Accountability
- Risk Assessment and Management
- Facilities Design and Construction
- Information and Documentation
- Personnel and Training
- Operations and Maintenance
- Management of Change
- Third-party Services
- Incident Investigation and Analysis
- Community Awareness and Emergency Response
- Operations Integrity Assessment and Improvement
