1990


An Esso Medal of Achievement -- Imperial introduced the Esso Medals and Certificates of Achievement program in 1980 to recognize improvement, achievement and fair play among minor league players.

1991


A modern tanker truck recovers vapours that would otherwise be released to the air when underground tanks are filled. Technology such as this helps to protect air quality. 

1992


Large-scale equipment helps to mine the bitumen saturated sands at the Syncrude oil sands operation near Fort McMurray, Alta. Imperial holds a 25-percent share in Syncrude.

1993


Researchers conduct soil experiments at the Sarnia facility to find innovative ways to restore properties no longer in use.

1994


A Tigermart store, offering convenient shopping to service station customers.

1995


Pipe lies ready for installation at the Cold Lake operation, which has been expanded in a series of 13 phases since the early 1980s.

1996


Looking out over the Imperial's Finch Avenue distribution terminal in Toronto, one of the largest and most complex distribution terminals in Canada. 

1997


An Esso barge makes its way across the Mackenzie River near Norman Wells, N.W.T.

1998


An employee helps to manufacture polyethylene pellets at Imperial's world-class, world scale petrochemical plant in Sarnia.

1999


An offshore drilling platform facilitates the search for natural gas beneath the Atlantic seabed through the Sable Offshore Energy Project, in which Imperial is a participant.
