History: The Dartmouth refinery began production in 1918 to meet the demands of the First World War. Since then, it has grown continuously, now occupying approximately 260 hectares (650 acres). It has a processing capacity of up to 89,000 barrels of crude oil a day, manufacturing 52 different products. Most of these products are sold to customers in the Atlantic provinces and Eastern Quebec through a network of agents and distributors.
